Booking an appointment

Non-urgent advice: Booking an Appointment

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

Appointments are split with approximately 20% pre-bookable four weeks in advance, 30% available one week in advance, with the remainder for booking on the day, though these are normally allocated after a telephone consultation.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • By phone
  • Face to face at the surgery
  • On a video call
  • By text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Non-urgent advice:

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient.

If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

Whenever possible we ask you to come to the surgery where we have more and better facilities and support.  But if you are housebound or judged medically to be too unwell a doctor or one of our community nurses can visit you at home.

We cannot visit simply because you lack transport to the surgery.

If you need a doctor please phone reception on 01604 611600 – before 10:00 if possible.

If you need a nurse please phone our community nurses on direct line 01604 259439 – again before 10:00 if possible.
